Veterinary / ESWT / TPSTPiezoVet 100 plusThe PiezoVet 100 plus from Richard Wolf uniquely combines and expands orthopaedic ESWT applications with the applications of TPST. This means a significant expansion of the range of applications by including the wide area of myofascial pain syndrome. The extracorporeal, focused shock wave allows both the therapy and the precise location of active and latent trigger points.
The trigger is excited by the small focus point of the PiezoVet 100 plus. The variable depth of penetration of the focused shock wave up to 55 mm allows deep-seated triggers to be localized and treated with accuracy. The system is the first transportable, focused shock-wave unit for TPST. Using the PiezoVet 100 plus, you can perform all orthopaedic ESWT and trigger therapies with extreme accuracy.
With its multiple connector, gel-filled therapy sources of varying designs can be adapted. With the gel-filled waterless therapy sources, the depth of penetration can be varied by using pads of different thicknesses from 5 to 45 mm. Without gel pads, the depth of penetration is 55 mm. Two anatomically shaped gel pads were also specially developed for treatment of the distal extremities. The pads are available with a depth of penetration of 10 mm and 20 mm. The gel pads can be fixed and released with a threaded ring. New acoustically adapted gels now allow the focused shock waves to be adapted without a water-filled coupling membrane.
Piezo Shock Wave Source: All shock wave sources of the adaptable therapy sources of the Piezovet 100 have the new dual-layer design. Apart from doubling the power, this also means that the working life is increased several times compared with conventional shock-wave sources. A further advantage is the large-area energy coupling with aperture angles of 90° to 108°. This reduces the energy density at the surface of the skin and significantly reduces pain - this is particularly important when the depth of penetration is low. The large aperture produces a precise focal zone for accurate treatment with the highest possible degree of protection for surrounding areas. Depending on the indications, a low, medium or high energy treatment can be selected. 20 Intensity levels in the lower energy range allow precise application of energy and treatment without sedation or anaesthesia.
