Oesophagoscopy![]() Removing larger foreign bodies such as pieces of bone, stones, wood chips, golf balls, etc. from the stomach of a dog is a standard procedure in small animal practices. There are major extraction problems however if the foreign body is in the area of the esophagus.
For the removal of larger foreign bodies flexible endoscopes with their corresponding forceps are not suited, so that in many cases open surgery is required for removal. This of course is a major operation followed by a longer convalescence period for the animals. For the removal of foreign bodies from the esophagus and stomach the Oesophagoscope Set after Torrent/Mora and new shorter instruments are available.
